Description
The most well known monastery of all on Lantau Island is Po Lin (Precious Lotus) Monastery at Ngong Ping. The majestic Big/Giant/Tian Tan Buddha there is believed to be the world's greatest outdoor Buddha statue of this type. Since the opening of the Bronze Seated Buddha in 1993, Ngong Ping has become one of Hong Kong's major tourist attractions.

Transportation
Take First Ferry from Central to Mui Wo, then take Lantau Island Bus route No.2 to Ngong Ping Bus Terminal.

Take Lantau Island Bus route No.23 to Ngong Ping Bus Terminal outside the Tung Chung MTR Station.

Take Lantau Island Bus route No.21 from Tai O to Ngong Ping Bus Terminal.
